After you apply, your application is forwarded to the person responsible for filling the job. For simplicity, we call that person the hiring manager. This could be the actual client or somebody that represents them. They will evaluate your application and decide if they want to get in touch with you. In such cases, you'll get connected directly with the hiring manager via email.
Take the initiative from here and schedule a call with the hiring manager to discuss any details that might be relevant for the job.
The hiring manager might decide to decline your application, or the job might get closed before they reach back to you. In such cases, you'll receive a notification via email.
